Appen is seeking resumes of native level New Zealand English speakers with computational linguistic background, to work on development of the client's TTS engine. The successful candidate will be in the Bay area for the initial training (4-6 weeks). Remote work is possible during the life of the contract (9 months). Relocation and accommodation will be paid, and costs of daily meals refunded.

Our client is a major international technology developer. Successful candidate will be working on their New Zealand TTS voice development.
Strong technical skills are required, as per the specifications below.
Anyone interested would need to send a CV with an added section at the top addressing these key qualifications explicitly:
•B.S./M.S. computational linguistics or equivalent
•Expert knowledge of phonetic notation such as IPA, SAMPA or CMU
•Ability/experience in reading spectograms using Pratt/WaveSurfer
•Ability to phonetically transcribe audio / speech accurately as well as verify accuracy of existing phonetic transcriptions
•Ability to write scripts in Python or similar scripting language
•Comfortable with Linux tools such as Bash, Git and Grep
•Native level speaker of New Zealand with high degree of familiarity with local people, place names and other frequent local terms
