Chief of Staff to the CTO





About the Role:


As the Chief of Staff, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day needs of a wide variety of stakeholders. This essential role will help the CTO in driving the technology vision of the company while providing a wide range of assistance with administrative and execution tasks. These tasks range from promoting values and cultures, defining and enforce processes, managing critical engineering initiatives, and more. It is a critical position who will drive our engineering excellence and culture.





  • Acts as a role model of Appen’s culture and values.
  • Assist CTO on strategic initiatives.
  • Drive engineering excellence and optimize agile practice.
  • Work closely with other engineering leadership team to promote engineering culture.
  • Responsible for the management of largely cross-functional, high visible, and business critical initiatives in the technology organization





  • A./B.S. degree or higher, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a leadership position
  • Self-motivated, a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Advanced knowledge in Agile practice
  • Fantastic interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solver
  • Experiencing leading large cross functional products and team preferred
