HR Assistant

 

Position Summary

 

This role is an entry-level position and reports to either the HR team lead, or manager. Your main responsibilities as the HR Assistant will be to maintain and update employee records, process background checks globally, support HR processes and assist with Engagement Activities.

 

HR Assistant will act as the first port of call to employees and external partners for HR related queries. As a priority, HR Assistant will handle the background screening request for all Appen locations and assist on engagement activities for Cavite office.

 

A good understanding and knowledge of employment law and ensuring the HR department conforms to these is key.  Assisting with any other administrative tasks as and when they arise may be necessary.

 

Responsibilities

  • Forming and maintaining employee records
  • Preparing and amending where necessary HR documents, i.e., employment contracts
  • Communicating with external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Helping with various arrangements internally
  • Assists and support in engagement activities
  • Manage posting for local FB, Yammer groups and maintain members.
  • Manage and administer client request background checks; track through reporting to be remitted to HR weekly; partner with global HR team to ensure compliance needs are met.
  • Proactively report on potential risks for not meeting quality or deadlines of background checks.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Attention to detail, organized and can prioritize workload
  • Above average English written and verbal skills
  • Can communicate with any level of colleague within the business
  • Experience in handling Engagement Activities
  • Experience in 201 filing preferred
  • Above average MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint skills
  • Experience as an HR Assistant, HR administrator or HR administrator’s assistant
  • Understanding various HR software systems a plus
  • Ability to work with outside vendors and through understand of array of platforms
  • Good understanding of PH labor laws
  • Willing to work in the office as needed during pandemic
  • Graphic design experience is a plus

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

HR Assistant are expected to be qualified to degree level, in either HR, management or a business related field. Previous administrative experience is essential, but not necessarily within the HR sector. Being organised and able to prioritise is vital, as is having good communicative and relationship building skills, as you will work with various people across the whole business.

  • Graduate of HR Admin, Business, or related degree
  • Must have at least 1-2 years of experience as HR Admin
  • Open to other non-HR degree but must have at least 2 years’ experience as an HR Admin
