At Appen, we value performance, honesty, humility, and grit.   About the Role As a Platform Support Specialist, you will provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to internal and external users of Appen’s Data Annotation Platform via live-chat, email, and phone. The PSS uses their advanced platform knowledge and experience troubleshooting issues to resolve customer requests and is the first line of defense for investigating and escalating issues to appropriate departments as needed. Along with providing excellent customer service by interfacing directly with customers the PSS will help with improving the self-service knowledge base, strategic internal initiatives, and a host of other projects aimed towards continually improving the customer experience.   Responsibilities - Answer support tickets, emails, live-chats, and phone calls from annotation platform users (both internal and external) via Zendesk - Troubleshoot, prioritize & escalate platform incidents, issues, and bugs to the engineering team - Write and update documentation in the annotation platform Self-Service Center - Participate in Support Rotation Coverage (Support hours range from 6 AM - 6 PM PST) - Drive onboarding & platform training for new hires in the Support team - Manage the Zendesk support tool in an Admin capacity to carry out tasks related to reporting and analysis of team processes and performance. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers on user testing and documentation of new features Required Experience/Skills  - Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical support role for a SaaS platform - Willingness to dive into the Appen Data Annotation Platform and become the subject matter expert - Highly committed, flexible, productive and team-oriented - Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include early or late shifts - Experience with a support service desk tool (such as Zendesk) to answer customer inquiries, conduct ticket reporting, and pull metrics to analyze support performance​ - Expert communicator with the ability to translate technical jargon to non-technical customers in a clear, concise, and timely manner - Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects, objectives, and deadlines - Analytical thinking & problem-solving - A big plus if you have the following: - Foundational knowledge of Python, JavaScript, Liquid Logic, SQL - Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and API support - A love for data and data-driven decision making

Position Summary Associate Data Collection Specialist is responsible for executing data collection projects using Appen’s data collection systems, software and equipment. Associate Data Collection Specialist customises participant instructions based on project-specific needs, assigns tasks to participants, communicates with participants, monitors throughput, performs and manages quality assurance, schedules payments and supervises project-specific staff if required (e.g. recording supervisor, QA checker). The successful candidate will take part in a English transcription project. Key task is to listen to the in-tool recorded speech in comfortable secure office environment and to transcribe data in line with guidelines to be provided on online transcription platform.  Project Details: Hours required for the task: min. 25-35 hours per week Task duration in weeks: approx. 12-20 weeks with a potential to extend.   Detailed Task - Users will listen to several audio clips about 3-30 minutes long and are tasked to transcribe and annotate the entire audio as per standard guidelines and set writing conventions. The candidate will be working with a team of in-house transcribers ensuring productivity and quality targets are met. Additionally, the Program Manager may be responsible for project and data analysis, meeting coordination and other manager training as assigned.   The Program Manager will be responsible for an umbrella of business, monitoring and driving key performance metrics for a team of Project Managers delivering to our clients. The Program Manager will work collaboratively, supporting a virtual environment, with Appen’s Client Services team to meet all stakeholder requirements. Responsibilities The role includes but is not limited to the following duties and responsibilities: - Develop and drive project plans and objectives to meet project scope, timeline and budget - Build and manage a proficient team of managers to drive team key performance metrics and meet or exceeds program targets - Develop and execute delivery and quality management plans to support a project end-to-end - Drive continuous project improvements and efficiencies - Deliver required performance metrics and KPI at or exceeding expectations - Analyze and evaluate statistical reports to proactively identify and improve program performance and Client deliverables - Facilitate and drive WBR, MBR & QBR meetings to establish and grow client relationships - Conduct training for new staff on all end-to-end processes utilized by Client Services - Communicate in a timely, clear and concise manner to stakeholders including Staff, Directors, Clients and Leadership. - Solicit and use input and feedback from client, Appen managers and ICs to help drive efficiencies and improve quality plans - Provide regular, strategic program updates with action plans to Leadership - Grow Client relationships and drive Land and Expand growth and initiatives - Develop and deliver semi-annual performance reviews for all direct reports - Adapt to changing program needs and expectations - Participate in corporate initiatives and committee work as assigned Qualifications and Experience - 5 to 7 years of management experience in a metric-driven setting, working in a production, operation, or call center environment - Minimum 2 years experience working as a Project Manager for Appen or in a similar field - BS or BA degree from an accredited University or equivalent work experience preferred - Excellent communication skills including an ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing or verbally to a wide audience including clients, managers and senior leaders; effectively uses active listening skills - Driven to focus on quality and drives team members and peers to deliver exceptional quality and service - Exceptional time management and organizational skills with acute attention to detail - Passionate about learning new skills and technologies. Takes personal responsibility for continuous learning demonstrates through documented learning opportunities.
